STAINLESS STEEL PRICING TRENDS
MARCH 2001
|
| |
|
February 19, 2001
Raw material surcharges continue their downward trend in March. The combined moly, nickel and chrome surcharge for Types 303 and 304 is .02 per pound in March, down from .07 per pound in February. Type 316 is .03, down from .09 per pound.
At the same time, domestic stainless bar producers have implemented an energy surcharge to offset a significant increase in natural gas costs.
The net result is.....no change in pricing. We can file this information in the "The more things change, the more they stay the same" file.
