Type 310 Stainless Bar
| Product Description |
| Type 310 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel that has excellent oxidation resistance. These alloys have resisted temperatures up to 2100° F (1149° C) in continuous service, and have provided good resistance to both carburizing and reducing environments. Type 310 offers better corrosion resistance than Type 304 because of the higher percentages of chromium and nickel. Stainless Type 310 possesses much better creep strength at elevated temperatures than do the straight chrome grades. |

Type 310 has excellent corrosion resistance and is superior to Stainless Type 304 and Type 309 in many environments.
Marine exposures have produced little to no evidence of stress corrosion for annealed or cold-rolled Types 310 up to 90% of it's yield strength.
These alloys have excellent resistance to oxidizing acids and common corrosion agents. They also have good resistance to molten salts, such as drawing and tempering salts, neutral salts, cyaniding salts and high-speed salts. If exposed to the temperature range of 800/1500° F (427/816°), Type 310S is suggested for better corrosion resistance.
